Why We Love the Cuddle Ball

The Cuddle Ball is a soft, sensory tool designed to offer comfort, calm, and a gentle sense of security. With openings that invite children to slip their hands and arms inside, it provides soothing deep pressure input in a way that feels natural, playful, and reassuring.

For many children, deep pressure is one of the most regulating forms of sensory input. It can help the body feel organised, settled, and safe. However, for some children, the physical closeness of a hug or cuddle from another person can feel overwhelming, especially when they are already dysregulated. The Cuddle Ball offers an alternative way to access that same calming input, on the child's own terms, at their own pace, and in a way that feels safe and predictable.

Made with beautifully soft, tactile fabric in modern, calming colours, the Cuddle Ball is wonderful to hold, hug, and squeeze. Its cosy design makes it especially appealing for moments of big feelings, transitions, or wind-down time. Whether tucked into a regulation corner, used during quiet play, or held close during a tricky moment, the Cuddle Ball is a gentle companion that supports comfort and connection.

Ways to use it
  • Deep Pressure Input: Hugging or squeezing the ball provides calming proprioceptive input, helping children feel more settled and regulated.
  • Comfort Without Closeness: A lovely option for children who seek deep pressure but find physical hugs overwhelming, offering the same calming input in a child-led way.
  • Regulation Breaks: Use during moments of dysregulation, big feelings, or transitions to support a return to calm.
  • Quiet Time & Relaxation: Perfect for story time, wind down, or seated activities at home or school.
  • Sensory Spaces: A beautiful addition to regulation corners, sensory rooms, or calm-down spaces at home, in school, or in clinic settings.
  • Anxiety & Stress Support: Holding the ball close can help children feel safer and more settled during overwhelming moments.
