Let's understand & support your child together, with an Occupational Therapy Assessment
Not sure how best to help your child? A full assessment gives you a clear, in-depth picture of their strengths and needs with a written report and personalised recommendations to move forward with confidence.

About our Occupational Therapy Assessments
Every assessment is carried out by Kevin, a CORU-registered Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist, with Áine, our occupational therapy assistant, alongside. They take the time to really get to know your child, their strengths, their needs, and how they experience the world so nothing feels rushed and nothing gets missed.
From a first screening to full assessments of motor skills, DCD (Dyspraxia), Assistive Technology (AT), sensory processing, handwriting and more, we work with children aged 0–18 and their families right across Ireland. Assessments happen wherever your child feels most at ease, in your own home or their school and you'll come away understanding them more clearly, with practical, personalised steps to help them thrive.
The Assessment Process
A simple, step-by-step process built around you and your child.
Gathering information
We begin with a 45–60 minute online interview with you to build a full picture of your child, their needs and how we can best support them. Where helpful, we'll liaise with their school by phone or Zoom and use parent and school questionnaires.
The day of the assessment
The assessment itself typically lasts between 50–90 minutes. We visit you in the comfort of your own home and/or education setting, bringing fun to help your child feel at ease. The session may include both floor and tabletop activities. If your child benefits from visual supports, we’re happy to provide them in advance.
Interpreting the information
Our reports are very comprehensive and detailed. Kevin takes extensive time to analyse the information and write up the report which will outline the child's strengths and areas of need along with recommendations and programmes (where necessary) that can be shared with your chid's education provider.
Virtual feedback session
Once all interviews are completed, questionnaires returned back and any necessary visits are carried out Kevin aims to have your report issued to you within two weeks. We ask that you take time to review the report. Following this we will arrange a virtual 30-45 minute feedback session to discuss the findings and answer any of your questions.
Final drafts and programmes
Following the feedback session, Kevin will make any necessary revisions to the report. Once these changes are made, the final draft, along with any relevant programs or recommendations, will be emailed to you. This ensures the report reflects all necessary information and supports your child's needs effectively.
Post assessment supports
If the findings of your report suggest additional support and you would like to proceed, we can arrange further online parental coaching with Kevin or Áine. This will guide you in implementing the recommendations from your report and provide practical advice tailored to your child’s needs.
